LMS Transition Community Engagement

DELTA hosted its first Learning Technologies Town Hall on April 24, 2026, covering key updates on NC State’s transition from Moodle to Canvas. Faculty and staff who missed the session or would like to revisit the discussion can watch the recording here. Additional town halls will be held throughout the transition, and recordings will be posted as they become available.

How Instructors Can Get Involved

There are a number of ways you can get involved with the Canvas transition right now.

Serve as a DELTA Faculty Fellow

Faculty Fellows act as Canvas ambassadors within their colleges, helping to guide the transition and share insights. Fellows gain early, hands-on experience with Canvas and play a key role in shaping how NC State adopts the platform.

Join Canvas Evaluators Cohort 2

Evaluators take a closer look at Canvas through structured exploration, testing tools and workflows and providing feedback that directly informs our transition planning. If you want to dig into the details and help us make informed decisions, this cohort is for you.

Teach with Canvas This Fall

Faculty who want to begin teaching in Canvas ahead of the full transition can request early access for fall courses. This is a great option if you’re eager to get started and comfortable being among the first to teach in the new environment.

The Early Access to Canvas initiative is intended only for faculty who have recent experience using Canvas and are comfortable working within the platform with minimal institutional support.

Support from DELTA

Our goal in DELTA is to make this transition as smooth as possible and to ensure you have the tools and support you need to teach with confidence and deliver exceptional educational experiences for all NC State students.
