Padlet
Ready to support active learning through collaborative idea sharing?

Padlet is an interactive, collaborative digital bulletin board tool now available to NC State instructors and students. It allows users to post, organize, and share multimedia content, such as text, images, videos, documents, links, and audio, in real time. Padlet is highly visual, intuitive, and flexible, supporting both synchronous and asynchronous engagement.
Padlet has two features that can be used such as the board, which is a digital bulletin board tool that allows creators to post in their own cells and has flexible fields in order to organize information. Sandboxes are digital whiteboards that offer flexible additions such as drawings, annotations, and other integrations all in one field. Both can be customized, personalized, and organized in various ways, making them multifaceted tools.
“Padlet is my first choice for creating active learning. It is a great tool for having a class discussion. You can also have students brainstorm ideas, keep a reading log or journal, create a to-do list, or have groups use Kanban to manage a group project. The possibilities are endless.”

“I often use Padlet as a way to gather thoughts from students before, during, and after a session. I post three questions and allow voting on comments. I encourage participants to share links, questions, and images. Padlet makes it easy to embed, share a link, or display a QR code for participation. Contributions can be in a variety of forms, and Padlet has included several accessibility enhancements!”
