VoiceThread: Connect in a dynamic, multimedia learning environment
VoiceThread is a unique interactive tool that transforms traditional media into collaborative spaces with video, voice and text commenting. Once instructors and students create VoiceThreads with a series of images, video, documents, and other media types, they can comment on those to create discussions or audio narration.
Some common uses include interactive recorded lectures, an alternative to discussion forums, student presentations and more. Presentations and discussions can be graded or ungraded experiences.
Access VoiceThread the first time through a Moodle course to create your account. You can create a link to your VoiceThread homepage and then dive into assignment creation and presentations.
- Moodle course > Editing on > Add an activity or resource > External tool > VoiceThread > Activity Name: VoiceThread Home > Choose VoiceThread from the drop-down menu > Select Content > VT Home Page > Publish > Save and Return to Course
- Access your new VoiceThread Home link to find tutorials, guides, workshops and more!
- After creating an account via Moodle, you can also access VoiceThread.com and log in with your NC State Google account.
“I’ve found that when I post a VoiceThread presentation I get my introverted/quiet students to share more and interact when they might be more hesitant otherwise.
