Wooclap
Want to increase real-time collaboration with your course content?
In-person, hybrid and online class participation and engagement will benefit from the use of this new interactive polling platform.
With Wooclap, instructors have the flexibility to engage students on their preferred devices quickly and easily without barriers to participation, such as account creation. The platform appeals to students and instructors alike because it is easy to implement and learn, streamlining the process of gathering information and maximizing class time.
“I was pleasantly surprised with how quickly students caught on to using Wooclap,” said pilot tester Carlos Goller, associate teaching professor in the Department of Biological Sciences.
How Can Wooclap Improve Your Courses?
Wooclap offers a remarkably easy interface that does not require users to download an app or establish a user account. Quizzes or polls can be created in minutes and offered live or asynchronously. Students then access the poll from any connected device by scanning a QR code or entering a unique event code. Student answers are displayed in real-time on the instructor’s screen.
With Wooclap, instructors can expect:
- Real-time feedback: Instructors can solicit real-time feedback from students using 21 question types, including multiple choice, poll, priority lists, find-a-number, word clouds, image labeling or sliding scales. Wooclap is ideal for quick understanding checks during class lectures, with its user-friendly interface.
- Active learning: A wide range of interactive activities is available to engage students in different learning modalities. Events can be given in real-time or asynchronously, anonymously or identified by student name.
- Participation monitoring: Review student engagement patterns using a reporting feature that tracks and quantifies individual interactions within events. Instructors can use this data to adjust their teaching strategies as needed.
“I liked having the ability to gather feedback from students anonymously,” said pilot tester Linda Hargrove, teaching academic adviser in the College of Engineering. “This helps me assess student learning without anyone feeling singled out.”
