Chris WillisCoordinator, Learning Analytics and Assessment Academic Technology Innovation
Chris Willis is the Coordinator, Learning Analytics and Assessment at DELTA, in the Office of Planning and Assessment. Chris supports DELTA directors and managers in research and assessment activities in creating, maintaining and evaluating the implementation of DELTA’s strategic plans, and he helps design qualitative and quantitative methods for collecting, analyzing and disseminating assessment data. His current focus is on working with DELTA managers and NC State faculty on course redesign assessment objectives, methods and reporting, as well as helping to ensure DELTA’s compliance with SACSCOC, UNC-GA and NC State assessment requirements. Chris also collaborates with DELTA units to conduct assessment activities in support of DELTA’s Strategic Plan and SACSCOC guidelines to gauge the quality and effectiveness of distance and online education support services.
A new transplant to North Carolina, Chris graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. in Psychology. He has a Master’s in Public Administration and an M.A. in Survey Research from the University of Connecticut, as well as a Master’s in Education concentrating in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University. His research interests include involving faculty in improving student learning outcomes assessment, using assessment data and processes to improve student retention and graduation, and finding innovative ways to gather data from students.
He hopes to pursue a Ph.D. soon, and in the meantime, he’s busy with his fiancé and three rambunctious cats.
