Would you like to learn how to use Moodle on your own time, and at your own pace? This asynchronous, self-paced course is designed to help you become familiar with the basic functions of Moodle, while providing the flexibility of learning and exploring the features on your own.

In this introductory, self-paced course, you will learn the basics about Zoom, NC State’s web conferencing and synchronous course meeting tool. This workshop is for users who have never hosted a meeting in Zoom, and/or who would like to learn more about navigating the Zoom web portal and desktop client; selecting settings; scheduling a secure meeting; and basic hosting tools during a meeting.

Learn how to collect assignments and give feedback by integrating Google Workspace for Education’s collaboration capabilities into learning workflows. Google Assignments handles the sharing of Google files (passing viewing and editing rights back and forth between instructor and student) and records grades in the Moodle gradebook. Complete this self-paced workshop to learn how to utilize this tool!

This self-paced course is designed to help you learn more about using course-level assessments in your online courses. Not only will we discuss the importance of well-written student learning outcomes, but we will also examine how to assess those outcomes, gather data from those outcomes, and make data-driven decisions based upon student learning outcome data. We will discuss what assessment is and why it is important, how to plan for assessment, how to access tools to help you assess student learning and how to use assessment data. The primary focus, however, will be on how Moodle can help facilitate course-level assessment.

This self-paced training is designed to help you become familiar with the basic concepts of developing and facilitating professional development opportunities while using Moodle. If you have the responsibility of designing, developing, and/or facilitating a professional development course, this is the beginner course for you! This course aims to teach you how to plan, design, develop, and facilitate online professional development opportunities. Throughout the course, you will learn about educational techniques and strategies to help build quality online professional development courses that incorporate instructional design best practices.

This training is designed to identify best practices in regards to online course design and development. After completing this course you will be able to scaffold course content, align outcomes to activities and assessments, recognize communication strategies for asynchronous courses, apply effective course design principles, and create engaging and accessible course materials.
