Inside DELTA: 5 Questions with Bill Hicks

A new Inside DELTA highlighting the life of DELTA staff in their day-to-day work routines and life outside of the workplace. DELTA’s Senior Systems Architect Bill Hicks enjoys building furniture and electronic devices. He can often be seen tinkering in the educational technology services area of the Center for Technology and Innovation.

A Work in Progress: Immersive VR Environment for LAR 457

As part of an exploratory grant project for a landscape architecture course, Postdoctoral Research Scholar Muntazar Monsur and Teaching Assistant Professor Carla Delcambre are working with a team of dedicated DELTA staff members to create an immersive, 3D environment that students can explore using virtual reality headsets.

She is part of the online and distance education administrative team and loves watching horror, suspense and psychological thriller films.

A Work in Progress: Tactile Teaching Tools for Inclusivity in Science Education

DELTA team members began working with Teaching Assistant Professors Claire Gordy and Melissa Ramirez to build a website where educators at NC State and beyond can share 3-D printable designs to enhance student learning in biological science courses.

Creative Collaborations Support New and Future Faculty to Improve Student Learning

DELTA Grant Update: Continuing to Incorporate VR into LAR

Since the completion of DELTA Exploratory Grant work in 2016, Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture Kofi Boone has successfully incorporated virtual reality/augmented reality (VR/AR) technology into his landscape architecture courses.
