Preparations are underway for the 7th annual DELTA-Con, NC State’s unconference experience, scheduled for Wednesday, May 9 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

After several years of adjusting modalities due to the pandemic, DELTA-Con 2023 is returning as a wholly in-person event, hosted in the Center for Technology and Innovation (CTI) on Centennial Campus. This day-long experience allows faculty, staff and graduate students from area higher education institutions to share their knowledge, expertise, and best practices on a wide variety of topics.

What exactly is an unconference? As opposed to more traditional conferences, where an agenda is planned out in advance, the unconference enables attendees to decide the direction of the day. This flexibility allows participants to learn about topics including pedagogy and new technologies while acknowledging that everyone in the room can provide valuable input, suggestions and ideas.

New this year to DELTA-Con — Speed Geeking

DELTA-Con attendees will also be invited to participate in this “speed dating with technologies” afternoon session, where DELTA’s Digital Learning experts team up with NC State instructors to whet your appetite regarding technologies available for use in your courses.

Seeking more learning opportunities?

DELTA’s instructional technologists constantly strive to develop new and timely workshops and professional development opportunities for all instructors.

One of these new opportunities is our upcoming “Creating Instructional Media: Video Workshop Series” on May 10 (in-person) and 11 (virtual). If you attend three or more of these sessions, you will earn a DELTA “Exploring: Creating Instructional Media” badge to share your learning with others. In just a few workshops, you can create, edit and make a video ready for student learning! See this document for more detailed descriptions of the workshops.

Registration for both DELTA-Con and the Video Workshop Series is live now on REPORTER. Space is limited, so be sure to register early to save your spot!
