In July 2020, DELTA instructional designers and technologists created the Teaching Resources website, a place to explore the pedagogy behind instructional tools and strategies as well as how they make a difference for students –– in-person and online. One year later, the Teaching Resources website has a new look and new content to help NC State faculty teach effectively with technology on and off campus.

On the DELTA Teaching Resources website, you will not only gain skills to implement best practices in teaching and learning but also the background to critically consider pedagogical choices and tailor them to your teaching. The website is designed for faculty to easily locate and learn this information at a moment’s notice or as a supplementary resource in addition to DELTA’s workshops, webinars, events and Knowledge Base, our hub for help documentation. Combine these resources to apply the knowledge and master the skills you learn.

If you are new to teaching or starting a new course, the Teaching Resources website will walk you through course creation, design and best practices with syllabus templates and example courses to provide an easy foundation. Want to quickly create an online course? Learn the process with the Step-by-Step Online Course Creation Guide or explore expertly designed Moodle courses on the Example Courses page. If you are getting to know a new instructional tool like Panopto or learning more about an existing tool, the Academic Technology category is a one-stop-shop for informative articles and videos, including Best Practices for Designing Your Moodle Course, Using Breakout Rooms in Zoom and [Creating] a Video Introduction for Your Course. If you need ideas for effective assessments beyond traditional exams, the Assessment category is your source for inspiration and tips about Types of Assessment, Providing Effective Feedback and Real-time Assessments and Check-ins.

Building on the website’s existing accessibility content, the Accessibility section provides resources to help you ensure that your course content can be accessed in multiple ways to meet the needs of diverse learners. This section provides links to resources like the Quick Course Content Checklist, the NC State IT Accessibility Quick Guide, and an overview of accessibility and design methodologies with accessibility best practices and technology to help all of your students succeed. DELTA’s instructional designers and technologists look forward to continually expanding the website’s accessibility resources.

These examples are just a fraction of what is available and at your disposal on the DELTA Teaching Resources website. As you return to campus and bring along what you learned from remote instruction, take advantage of the website to prepare for a successful season of teaching and learning.
