Blackboard Collaborate to be Upgraded August 1

On August 1, DELTA will release an upgraded version of Blackboard Collaborate through WolfWare (collaborate.wolfware.ncsu.edu). While no action is required at this time, anyone who currently has sessions created in the existing Collaborate website will need to recreate those sessions on or after Friday, August 1. Links to existing recordings will continue to work until December 31, 2014. If you want to keep old recordings after this date, you will need to migrate those sessions to a new location by the end of the fall semester.

New Features

You can look forward to these new features in the upgraded Blackboard Collaborate:

  • Website optimized for desktop and mobile devices

  • Easy access to recordings

  • Additional format options for recordings

  • More detailed, user-friendly participation reports

  • Collaborate Launcher, eliminating the need for a separate Java installation

  • Teleconferencing for participants with connection issues
