Join us for the ELI 2011 Online Fall Focus Session(Archive)

DELTA Instructional Support Services is hosting the ELI 2011 Online Fall Focus Session: “Open Educational Content: Addressing Challenges and Seizing Opportunities”, and you are invited to join us! This session will be held on September 14th and 15th from 12 – 5 PM in the DH Hill Library Multimedia Seminar Center. During this session, EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative (ELI) will engage the teaching and learning community in exploring initial questions around open educational content and provide a  tour of institutional examples of  high-quality content development, maintenance models, and delivery organizational options that support adoption.

Topics of discussion include:

*Defining “open educational content”
*Examining the technology trends that, over the past 10 years, have begun to serve as enablers of open content (e.g., mobility, software, the cloud, lower technology costs)
*Addressing models of authoring and participation in open content use (e.g., delivery and organization issues)
*Reviewing models for assessing the impact of open resources on student success
