Update: LMS Committees

Sunset

One of DELTA’s goals is to provide an enterprise-level LMS service that meets the needs of university constituents for teaching and learning within a cost-effective and maintainable structure.   In moving forward with the improvement and implementation of enterprise-level LMS services, DELTA is seeking involved participation from our stakeholders, as together we craft and implement the vision and direction for campus  LMS services.

Over the past year, several ad-hoc committees with representatives across a number of colleges and units have been providing input, guidance and resources toward the NC State Moodle Pilot Implementation efforts, and these partnerships have allowed us to collaboratively leverage resources both within and external to DELTA.  As we move out of Phase I of the Moodle pilot, and look towards making decisions about long term LMS solutions for our campus, we would like to more formally create a number of committees that will support an ongoing LMS recommendation and decision-making process, realizing that LMS solutions and discussions for next phase consideration must include discussions about all campus LMSs and include a wider variety of representation from campus.

Invitations to participate in these committees were sent out in February, 2009.  In addition to committee participation, we welcome everyone who is interested to sign-up for our LMS info listserv, which we will use to announce forums, updates and general news regarding what’s happening with LMSs at NC State University.  Contact Dr. Marty Dulberg, Senior Coordinator, DELTA, for more information (marty_dulberg@ncsu.edu).
