Kay Zimmerman has an extensive strategic enrollment, marketing and technology management background from higher education, corporate technology management, and coordinated program development experience. Kay previously served as President of the NC Distance Learning Association (NCDLA), leadership for the development of The University of North Carolina Online (UNC Online online.northcarolina. edu), NC eLearning Commission advisor, member and leadership for the development of the NC ePortal: eLearningNC.gov, Vice President of an independently owned educational technology company, and has also held executive positions in a Fortune 500 company (Pearson Publishing) as a corporate publishing executive, a Florida State University instructor, Midway College Department Chair and United Nationals consultant.
Her broad and dynamic background in building collaboration and resource management encompasses the entire spectrum from statewide to national leadership experience to grow higher education. Kay’s professional goal is to provide collaborative leadership and appropriate solutions, that support the educational mission of NC State and the ever-changing learning and technology environment.
As the Associate Vice Provost for DELTA Marketing and Partnership Development and Entrepreneurship Initiative marketing, Kay provides executive level support, leadership, coordination and collaboration for marketing and partnership development strategic planning, facilitating mission/vision. In addition to these DELTA responsibilities, Kay also develops and manages student recruitment, marketing and strategic partnerships to enable DELTA to consistently build recognition throughout the University and the state of North Carolina that meet and exceed enrollment goals.
Kay also provides support for the Entrepreneurship Initiative special projects and select partnership initiatives.
