1. How do I schedule a videoconference?

2. How many sites can I connect to in a videoconference?

REPLY: Most of our users connect to three to five sites. You may be able to connect to more, depending on where they are and whether resources are available. Call Bob Klein (919)515-3683, or e-mail bob_klein@ncsu.edu.

3. How can I reserve a distance education classroom?

4. I have a federal or state grant and need to produce a video. Where can I get some help?

REPLY: Video Communication Services provides experienced television producer/directors to assist and plan any kind of video production for university- and state-affiliated organizations. Our services include scriptwriting, instructional design, graphic design, and all other elements of television production. We specialize in turn-key production. Our associates have extensive broadcast experience in complex live productions as well as the direction of talent in scripted productions. Initial consulting services are free. 5. How can I get copies of my tape made?

REPLY: Video Communication Services will duplicate a maximum run of ten VHS tapes, CDs, or DVDs on a fee-for-service basis. Video formats available are DVD, VHS, SVHS, Mini DV, DVC Pro, and Beta SP. 6. Can you convert my tape to DVD?

7. What instructional tools are available in the distance education classrooms?

REPLY: The equipment varies, but most distance education classrooms have a traditional dry-erase board, a SMART whiteboard, a SMART Sympodium, a document camera to capture what you write on a special pad, a computer in the instructor console, connectivity for your computer, and media-playback capability. To confirm that the equipment you need is available in the classroom where you will be teaching, call Bob Klein at (919) 515-3683, or e-mail bob_klein@ncsu.edu.

8. Can I use my laptop?

REPLY: Yes, you can, or you can transfer files from your computer to the classroom computer by flash drive or CD. You can also log in and access your files from your NC State FTP locker.

9. What does it cost to use the distance education classroom?

REPLY: If you are a faculty member and are using the classroom for instruction, use of the classroom and video support is free.

10. What production services do you offer?
