Media Distribution

Production, duplication & distribution

Create and distribute DE classroom materials and lectures in digital formats.

Video on DVD

Turn your lectures into DVD's that are available to your DE students at the NCSU bookstore.

Digital files on CD

Turn your course materials (text, images, drawings, etc.) into portable digital files that are available for your DE students to purchase on CD at the NCSU Bookstore.

Cable television broadcasting

Media Distribution Services provides cable television distribution of NCSU classes on a one week delay via the CRC cable channel 18 in Wake County. Classes are recorded by VCS, encoded into MEPG-2 files “real time” as the class is being taught. The digital file is then transferred over the IP network to the Media Distribution digital archive. The classes are programmed using a MediaEdge server and play back over the cable channel according to a set schedule. The classes air twice to maximize student opportunities for viewing and recording.

If you are an NCSU Faculty interested in delivering or distributing a Distance Education course, please contact Melissa Williford - Associate Director of DE Administrative Services melissa_williford@ncsu.edu, phone: 515-9032.
