Synchronous Learning at NC State
Our online synchronous environment can be used for a variety of purposes, including office hours, class discussions, exam reviews, online meetings, and class group work. A wide variety of interactive features include:
- Live audio and video
- Text chat
- Whiteboard
- Content upload and sharing
- Application sharing
- Polling
- Breakout rooms for group work

During summer 2012, there are two online synchronous systems available to NC State users, Elluminate Live! version 10 and Blackboard Collaborate, which is a renamed version 11 of Elluminate. If you are new to online synchronous learning, you should use Blackboard Collaborate. If you are a current user of Elluminate, you can continue to use Elluminate until August 8, 2012, but you can begin using Blackboard Collaborate as soon as you'd like!
Blackboard Collaborate and Elluminate Live! complement NC State's enterprise learning management systems.

Elluminate Live! Resources
Resources to download your Elluminate Live! recordings will be available beginning June 2012. You will be able to download Elluminate Live! recordings until December 18, 2012.
