These sites (e.g., del.icio.us, Flickr, Google Maps, etc.) allow individuals to communicate, collaborate and build knowledge in new and interesting ways. We consider the implications of these sites and their uses in higher education.

WolfWare: The Basics

This workshop explores ways to use WolfWare as an instructional tool. WolfWare is a Course Management System that can be used in conjunction with Blackboard Vista - or by itself to provide online resources to students.

WolfWare has tools that create space for a class Web site, that create e-mail distribution lists for the class, and that allow you to deliver streaming media files over the Internet.

This workshop is intended for the beginner. We will be covering topics like connecting to your course locker, page creation, password protecting your materials and modifying class e-mail lists.

Creating Accessible Online Course Content

In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to create accessible online course materials including Web pages, MS Office documents, and PDFs. Additionally, we will discuss strategies for creating accessible multimedia content for the Web. Lastly, this workshop will teach participants how to evaluate the accessibility of their existing online content, as well as strategies for bringing inaccessible materials into compliance.

Moodle: The Basics

This class provides a "big picture" overview of the open source course management system, Moodle. (http://moodle.org.) Participants will get hands-on experience adding content to a Moodle course and will learn about the NCSU Moodle Pilot that kicked off in the Spring of 2008.
