Problem:
What is the Anonymous Feedback tool that is listed under Mailing List
Management on the Admin Tools page?
Solution:
The Anonymous Feedback tool will let any student in your class send an
anonymous email message to your support mailing list. The email will appear to
come from "Anonymous Student" at an unknown email address. You will
not be able to reply to these messages.
This tool will only be made available to your students if you enable it. If
you do not wish to receive anonymous feedback, leave this option disabled.
The tool has the following features:
* web-based and WRAP-protected, so spammers cannot abuse the list
* access limited to students enrolled in the section, or listed as extras
* can be enabled or disabled by the instructor
* if enabled, a link will appear on your course boilerplate page
If you want to allow your students to send you anonymous feedback, do the
following:
1. Go to the WolfWare admin tool: https://wolfware.ncsu.edu/wrap-bin/admintool
2. Select your course section and click on "Go!"
3. Click on the Anonymous Feedback button in the Mailing List Management
section of the main menu.
4. Select the Enabled setting and click on the Submit Feedback Setting button
at the bottom of the form.
Within 15 minutes, a new "Feedback" link will appear on your
boilerplate page.
Wolfware strips the header information off the mail as it is coming in.
However, it does not strip off signatures that students have set up to be
automatically added to their outgoing mail. For this reason, please inform
students to remove their signatures if they wish to remain anonymous.
If you do not want to allow your students to send you anonymous feedback, you
do not need to do anything. This tool is disabled by default.
