Problem:
How does Wolfware handle students in cross-listed courses?
Solution:
At the request of the instructor to help@wolfware.ncsu.edu, one class
section is made the "parent" of the other(s) ("child(ren)")
so they can
share class mail, web space, etc. When you make your request for
classes to be cross-listed, tell us which course should be the parent
and which course(s) and section(s) should be the child(ren). Students
in the child course are added as "extras" to the parent course.
Mail for cross-listed courses is handled through the "parent" section
mail lists in order to include everyone in both classes. For example,
if all students in ece576-001 are made "extras" in csc576-001, mail
sent
to csc576-001 will be received by both classes, but mail sent to
ece576-001 (if it exists in WolfWare, it's not necessary to create
lockers for cross-listed child sections) will be received by that class
only.
