Problem:
How do I change my WolfWare Home Page link on the course boilerplate page at http://courses.ncsu.edu/ to point to another
URL?
Solution:
Go to http://courses.ncsu.edu/ and
select the WolfWare Toolbox link.
Select your section and then Edit WWW Boilerplate. The default is set to
"Link to my www area." That is, if you have an index.html or
index.htm file in /afs/eos/courses/xxx/xxxyyy/lec/zzz/www/ (e.g.,
/afs/eos/courses/csc/csc200/lec/001/www/) that file shows up as your Home Page
link at http://courses.ncsu.edu/. The
URL is http://courses.ncsu.edu/xxxyyy/lec/zzz/,
e.g., http://courses.ncsu.edu/csc200/lec/001/.
If you have placed an index.html or index.html file in the course "common
"area to serve as the home page, select the radio button beside "Link
to another section" and select "common" from the pull-down list.
The Home Page link for your section on the boilerplate page, when updated, will
link to the course home page in /afs/eos/courses/xxx/xxxyyy/common/www/, or http://courses.ncsu.edu/xxxyyy/common/
If you teach more than one section of a course and want all your sections to
share materials in one section locker rather than duplicating files, select
"Link to another section" and select the section that holds the course
content. In other words, if you teach CSC200-001 and CSC200-002 and want
section 002 to link to section 001, select Edit WWW Boilerplate for CSC 200-002
and choose section 001 from the "Link to another section" pull-down
list.
To link to another URL altogether, select the the radio button beside
"Link to another URL" and type in the whole URL, including the http://
part.
If you wish the changes to take place within 15 minutes rather than
during the regular system update, return to the WolfWare Toolbox Main Menu (http://wolfware.ncsu.edu/wrap-bin/admintool)
and select Request
Boilerplate Update.
