How do I add someone to the class roll who is not registered for the course?

Return to FAQs

Solution Summary:

Use "extras" to add people to the class roll.

Full Solution:

Problem: How do I add someone to the class roll who is not registered for the course? Solution: Via "Extras." The automatically generated class roll contains enrolled students only and is updated daily from Registration and Records data feeds. However, distance learners, audits, students finishing incompletes, etc., can be added to the roll by the instructor via WolfWare Toolbox -> Manage Extras List. These students must have Eos/Unity IDs to be added, however. At http://courses.ncsu.edu/, select WolfWare Toolbox. Select the course and section and log in with your Eos/Unity userid and password. When you get to the Admin Tools page, select Manage Extras List. Add an "extra" by typing his/her user ID in the Add to Extras List field. If you have a group of people to add, type in all of the IDs with a space separating them. Then select the Add to Extras button at the bottom of the page If you wish to remove the student from extras, select the check box by the name and Remove from Extras. For more information on WolfWare, see http://wolfware.ncsu.edu/help/ and http://courses.ncsu.edu/.
