Course Description: First semester of a two-semester sequence in introductory physics, with laboratory. A calculus-based study of mechanics, sound and heat.

Course Requirements:
Students must have access to a scientific calculator. Several tools are used to deliver the course content. The online lessons and labs are delivered over the Internet using a standard web browser (with javascript and JAVA enabled). The technologies employed for the delivery include QuickTime from Apple Computer, and Flash from Adobe. They are available for free download for Windows and Macintosh computers via the Apple website and the Adobe website, respectively. Homework assignments are accessed and submitted via the web using a tool called WebAssign.
