3D Online Learning Environments (3D-OLE)

The objective of this project is to research and develop online 3D virtual environments for NCSU faculty, staff and students. This project will explore various technologies that can support the creation and deployment of 3D muliti-user online environments for distance education courses, demonstrations, collaboration or interaction. We are currently investigating a few of the industry leading applications that will be used to build an online 3D community for NCSU faculty and staff. We are also investigating more sophisticated game development engines which can be used to create complex simulations.
