Biographical Info
Mike Cuales, an Associate Director in DELTA, functions as a manager and provides creative direction for the in-house design team responsible for producing innovative multimedia content for online education as well as media for marketing and advertising distance education at NC State University. He facilitates research and development initiatives, such as Serious Games design and contributes to the advancement of teaching and learning with technology. A design professional with 10 years of experience in production in educational institutions and corporate environments, Mike has managed a broad range of creative professionals, freelancers and student staff. Mike has served as an Adjunct Faculty for Animation and Digital Imaging in the Art + Design program at NC State College of Design and holds a B.S. in Business Management, Marketing and a M.A. in Industrial Design. As a graduate student, Mike worked as a Research Assistant for the Department of Computer Science on a grant sponsored by the National Science Foundation.
Mike received a Provost’s Unit Award for Excellence in 2017. He was also one of 12 to receive the NC State University Award for Excellence in 2018.
